Verbum caro factum est was presented with 360 degrees of 60x60 Video (Sanguine Mix) (a video collaboration with Patrick Liddell) on November 1 at Kansas City, Kansas Community College Performing Arts Center and on November 6 at the Fresno (CA) New Music Festival. The Sanguine Mix without video was presented the afternoon of November 7 at Western Washington University PAC Concert Hall in Bellingham, Washington.

Forgotten at Dawn... was performed on October 29 and 30, 2010 in Hillsboro and Portland, Oregon on concerts organized by Cascadia Composers. Thanks to Dawn Weiss, Barbara Heilmair, Justin Mackewich, and Diane Chaplin for their excellent performances.

Tiny Cheesehead Fanfare was premiered October 16 by the UW-Green Bay Faculty Brass Trio at Fort Howard Hall in the Weidner Center as part of UW-GB’s “Evening of Miniatures” progam. This is the first piece in the Tiny Cheesehead Music series to actually be performed in Wisconsin, and I am delighted that the performance took place in Titletown.

Verbum caro factum est was included with an installation of all six 360 degrees of 60x60 mixes on October 16 at Electronic Music Midwest in Romeoville, IL. It was also presented with video by Patrick Liddell in a program of four 60x60 mixes on October 20 at Rodan in Chicago.

Verbum caro factum est was presented with 360 degrees of 60x60 Sanguine Mix on August 6 as part of "ton:art" at Galerie Margit Haupt, Karlsruhe, Germany.

Verbum caro factum est was presented at Supermarket in Toronto on July 20 as part of 360 degrees of 60x60 Sanguine Mix in a concert presented by THE AMBiENT PiNG. The same mix of pieces was presented weekly from July 10 to September 18 at Atelier Rouge Aubépine in Lodève, France as well as being programmed at Lodève's yearly poetry festival "Voix de la Méditerranée" on July 21.

Verbum caro factum est was presented with 360 degrees of 60x60 Sanguine Mix on June 29 at New Life Church, Denton, Texas, and on June 17 at KiBar in the KIBLA Multimedia Center in Maribor, Slovenia.

On May 22, Verbum caro factum est was a small part of Dance Parade's DanceFest 2010 at Tompkins Square Park in New York City.

A one-minute electronic piece, Verbum caro factum est, was included in the 360 degrees of 60x60 installations at ICMC 2010, June 1-5 in New York.

thingNY performed Tiny Cheesehead Spam as part of SPAM, the largest commission of experimental music in the history of email-submitted spam, on December 19, 2009 at The University of the Streets in New York City. The program was presented again as SPAM (v. 1.2) on April 18, 2010 at The Tank.

2009

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble performed David’s soundtracks to five short films by the Edison Film Company (without the films) on September 25, 2009 at The New York Performing Arts Library's Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center.

ASCAP has awarded David a standard award for 2009.

The performances from New Music Hartford's Evening of Miniatures are now available on YouTube: Attack of the Tiny Cheesehead Music and Revenge of the Tiny Cheesehead Music.

Several of David's works were broadcast on Future Notes, a new music program hosted by Charles Savage on Radio Free Appalachia, internet radio from Ohio University Zanesville. The program aired May 18-24 at 9am and 7pm Eastern Daylight Time.

2008

Revenge of the Tiny Cheesehead Music and Attack of the Tiny Cheesehead Music will be performed December 5, 2008, in Hartford, CT, as part of New Music Hartford's Evening of Miniatures.

The Chicago Miniaturist Ensemble will premiere another tiny piece, Lux Aeterna, on December 4, 2008, at the Ossia Fine Arts Space in the Fine Arts Building, 410 S. Michigan Avenue.

Improvisation for solo viola was performed November 21, 2008, in Belgrade as part of the 17th International Review of Composers sponsored by the Composers Association of Serbia.

Gorham Nocturne and Improvisation for solo viola were performed by the Sonict Ensemble November 10, 2008, at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater along with works by Keith Carpenter, Laura Schwendinger, Jeff Herriott, and Jon Welstead.

One of David's dewdrop photographs will be shown at the Pyle Center in Madison during October and November 2008 as part of the Center for Photography at Madison's Wisconsin Waters show.

Seventeen Years Underground was part of the 60x60 Midwest Minute Madness installation at the Electronic Music Midwest Festival, October 16-18, 2008, at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois.

Echoes was broadcast on The Latest Score, Canary Burton's new music show on WOMR-FM in Provincetown, Massachusetts, on September 30, 2008.

Tiny Cheesehead Music Under the Stars was premiered September 27, 2008, by the Chicago Miniaturist Ensemble.

B.C. Brown's short film The plight of the north american bipeds, featuring excerpts from Liberal Media, will be screened May 31, 2008, at the Milwaukee Short Film Festival.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble premiered Passaic Falls and Lower Falls, Grand Canyon on December 8, 2007, at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, NY, as part of a concert of new compositions to accompany short films by the Edison Motion Picture Company. The films (without music) are available online from the Library of Congress: Passaic Falls, Lower Falls, Grand Canyon.

Seventeen Years Underground, a short piece based on recordings of cicadas, has been selected for 60x60 Midwest Minutes. The project was premiered October 9 at the Kentucky New Music Festival in Lexington and October 12 at the Electronic Music Midwest Festival in Kansas City, Kansas. Further performances took place November 14 in Georgetown, Kentucky and November 29 at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble premiered Tiny Cheesehead Haiku on December 14 at the ISSUE Project Room in Brooklyn.

Twenty-four was performed November 21 at the University of Oregon by The Eugene Contemporary Chamber Ensemble.

Erik Carlson of The New York Miniaturist Ensemble premiered Revenge of the Tiny Cheesehead Music on July 9.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble premiered Curse of the Tiny Cheesehead Music on May 31 at the Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn.

On May 18, Con Vivo premiered Battipalo, a new work commissioned by the ensemble and scored for clarinet, horn, bassoon, cello, and bass.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble premiered Tinier Cheesehead Music on May 15 at Juilliard.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble's first program of tape music featured a Tiny Cheesehead Music remix called Chase Etude Is My Niche. The concert took place May 3 in Manhattan.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble premiered another tiny piece on March 27 as part of Frank Oteri's 21st Century Schizoid Music series. That one is called Shadow of the Tiny Cheesehead Music.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble performed one of my tiny little pieces on February 23 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New York. The focus of that program is the premiere of 1. Natürliche Dauern by Karlheinz Stockhausen.

Philip Dawson, Josep Miralles, and Marta Hatler performed Liberal Media again on February 10, 2006, as part of the “Música contemporània” series at the Es Baluard Contemporary Art Museum in Palma de Mallorca.

2005

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble premiered another new piece at their concert on December 10, 2005. This one was called Tiny Cheesehead Music, Episode II.

De Profundis was performed November 9 at Annett Recital Hall as part of the La Crosse New Music Festival.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble performed a tiny new piece called Whispers at their concert on August 31, 2005.

A short setting of Puer Natus in Bethlehem was performed by the Grace Church Chancel Choir as part of a pre-service musical presentation on Christmas Eve.

On April 20, the Oakwood Chamber Players with Bill Lutes premiered Twenty-Four, a new work for chamber ensemble with narrator. The text for the work is Kevin Ducey's updated paraphrase of the 24th canto of Dante's Inferno. Twenty-Four was commissioned by the Madison Chapter of the Wisconsin Alliance for Composers.

A new work in memory of September 11 victims, De Profundis for clarinet, cello, and piano, was premiered January 27, 2002, at the First Unitarian Meeting House.

I Look from Afar, an adaptation and arrangement of the Sarum chant Aspiciens a longe, was sung by the Grace Church Chancel Choir as part of an advent lessons and carols service on December 2, 2001.

Turmmusiken for two trumpets was performed by David Cooper and Kory Dahlen at the La Crosse New Music Festival on November 14, 2001.

Dig This, Spieser for solo tuba was performed by David Spies on September 28, 2001, at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin.

Devil's Lake was performed November 7, 1998, at Winona State University's first Festival of New Music.

Forgotten at Dawn, Snowflakes, Finding Time, and Perspectives were broadcast on The Latest Score, Canary Burton's new music show on WOMR-FM in Provincetown, Massachusetts, on August 11, 1998.

Snowflakes and Perspectives were performed August 8, 1998, by the Musical Diversions Society in St. Louis.

As Incredible As Is America was performed July 25, 1998, by the EmergOrchestra as part of their Sound Off! concert. All works on the program were settings of texts from the "Sound Off!" column of Madison's Capital Times newspaper, where readers submit their own editorial comments by telephone.

David attended the Digital Soundscapes Computer Music Workshop on Csound July 13-17, 1998. The workshop was presented by the Center for Experimental Music and Intermedia, and was led by Jon Christopher Nelson. Partial support for the trip was provided by a Travel Fund Grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board.

Black Water was performed by Lyle Anderson on the University of Wisconsin Memorial Carillon on May 31, 1998, as part of a Wisconsin Sesquicentennial program.

Devil's Lake was performed May 16, 1998 at the First Unitarian Meeting House in Madison on a MadWAC benefit concert.

Devil's Lake, for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano, was premiered by Music St. Croix, a concert series based in Stillwater, Minnesota, on February 21, 1998.

1997

A short prelude for carillon titled Black Water was premiered by Lyle Anderson on the University of Wisconsin Memorial Carillon on December 3, 1997. The piece was published in the Albany Carillon Book.

Electricity, for solo flute, was performed by Elizabeth Heetmann on October 18, 1997, at Elizabethtown (Pennsylvania) College, as part of the Society of Composers, Inc. Region III Conference.

Echoes was performed by the Tuba Tzars on a Sound--the Alarm! concert on May 13, 1997, at the Hyde Park Theater in Austin, Texas.

Electricity was performed at the Ear & Now concert on April 6, 1997, at Canterbury Booksellers & Coffeehouse.

A short new piece, Fanfare: Christ ist erstanden for two trumpets and horn, was performed as part of Easter services at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison. A version for three trumpets is now also available.

Forgotten at Dawn... was performed by Synchronia, the St. Louis new music ensemble, on February 9, 1997.
